Wow, Lake Superior can be cold! Our first cruising event was great. Cold, fun, heavy air, motoring, headsail only, kite up, bear evidence, hiking, Stockton, rafting, lady slippers, expert rock skipping, great tacos, choco puffs, good stories, anchoring, dinghy instructionals, live performances, brie, wine, rum, beer . . .
Zig, Chase and Rappath et al on Allure from Saxon! They win the furthest travelled! It was a really good time, despite the cold. Our cruising director, Matt Resch, did a great job organizing and giving anchoring advice. It may be possible to be a good racer and a cruiser! I'm all in!

Chippewa needs crew!Hello Chase crew. If Chase is not going to Thunder Bay Chippewa needs your help. We are going to Thunder Bay for the PHRF's and we are racing the International. We need crew. You do need a passport. We will be organizing transportation so no cars get left in Thunder Bay if you do the International. IF you are interested please go to chippewaracing.org or email me.

Work UpdateHello crew. I just wanted to give you a status update for the boat prep. We were able to accomplish a lot this last weekend with a good sized group of people to do lots of work. We finished painting the bottom and got the boat waxed and ready. We were also able to wax the mast, and clean the interior and install the floor boards. Many thanks to all of you who were able to come up last weekend. For those coming up this weekend, we are planning on getting the boat in the water and prepared for the move to Bayfield! Next week, if you are able to make it up early on Friday, that would be helpful as we still need to get some more work done prior to launch. We anticipate the boat going in the water early afternoon. Please email chasesailing59@gmail.com for your availability to leave on Friday so I can try and coordinate carpools. Look for more in your inbox in the coming days.
Thank you!
